About Our Unique Retreat

An Immersive four-day retreat from August 29, 2025 to September 1, 2025 The Hindu University of America invites all to join this spiritually uplifting celebration of The Devi in all her facets. This in person retreat will be held in the sylvan surroundings of the
University campus at the Pine Lake Retreat in Orlando, Florida, USA.

The Vedas declare that Ishwara’s Shaki (power) is innate and produces different effects. This Shakti is termed PARAA-SHAKTI in Sanskrit. Paraasya shaktihi vividhaiva shruyate

Paraa Shakti manifests as Iccha (desire), Jnana (knowledge), and Kriya (action). As Iccha Shakti, She is Lakshmi. As Jnaana Shakti, she is Saraswathi, and as Kriya Shakti She is Uma Gauri.

To experience all these aspects, we will explore the Vedas, Upanishads, Stotras, Purana, Murthilakshana (iconography), Sangeeta (music), Tirthas (sacred sites) and their Sthala Puranas (legends).

Learn Vedic mantras and musical compositions
Perform puja and havan for Devi Saraswathi, Devi Lakshmi, and Devi Durga.
Study the Upanishad describing the philosophical background of Devi
Study and perform the Chandi (Devi Mahatmya) havan
To personally experience the Divine Universal Mother (Loka Maata), the evernourishing, and ever forgiving.
To engage in discussion and exchange experiences of your visits to the various Devi pilgrimage centers.
